Drafted eighth overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in 2022, he is known as "the Great Barrier Thief" for his defensive skills, particularly his ability to steal the ball. In 2025, Daniels achieved recognition by becoming the first Australian player to win the NBA Most Improved Player award.
