Dyson Daniels is an Australian professional basketball player currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. Drafted eighth overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in 2022, he is known as "the Great Barrier Thief" for his defensive skills, particularly his ability to steal the ball. In 2025, Daniels achieved recognition by becoming the first Australian player to win the NBA Most Improved Player award.
On November 15, Daniels became the first player since Michael Jordan in the 1989–90 season to record 15-plus points and five-plus steals in four consecutive NBA games.

In 2018, Dyson Daniels represented Australia at the FIBA Oceania Under-15 Championship in Papua New Guinea, helping his team win the gold medal.

Dyson Daniels finished the 2024–25 season leading the NBA with 3.01 steals per game and a total of 202 steals, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to record 200 steals in a single season. He also led the NBA in deflections with 366.
