Jalen Green is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Houston Rockets. A highly touted five-star recruit, he bypassed college to join the NBA G League Ignite. Green achieved considerable success with the United States junior national teams, winning three gold medals and earning MVP honors at the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup. Drafted second overall by the Rockets in 2021, Green is one of few NBA players of Filipino descent.
In 1971, Roscoe Pondexter held the school career scoring record of 2,288, which was later surpassed by Jalen Green during his junior year at San Joaquin Memorial.

On April 16, 2020, Jalen Green announced that he would join the NBA G League, forgoing offers from Auburn, Oregon, and Memphis, to pursue a professional basketball career.
On March 8, 2021, Jalen Green recorded a season-high 30 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in a 127–102 loss to the Raptors 905 in the first round of the playoffs for the NBA G League Ignite.

On November 7, 2022, Jalen Green scored 34 points in a win against the Orlando Magic, becoming the sixth guard in NBA history to score at least 30 points ten or more times before turning 21, joining players such as Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving.
On January 15, 2023, the NBA suspended Jalen Green along with teammate Jae'Sean Tate for one game without pay for leaving the bench area during an altercation between the Rockets and the Sacramento Kings two days earlier.
On January 24, 2024, Jalen Green and Alperen Şengün became the first duo in NBA history to score 30-plus points and 10-plus rebounds at 21 years or younger in a 135–119 win against the Los Angeles Lakers.
On March 19, 2024, Jalen Green put up a career-high 42 points, along with 10 rebounds and three assists, in a 137–114 win over the Washington Wizards.
