In 2018, Rodionov won his first ATP Challenger singles title at the Almaty Challenger.
In 2019, Rodionov won his maiden ATP Challenger doubles title at the Shymkent Challenger.
In October 2020, Rodionov reached the top 150, achieving a World No. 148 ranking. Also in October 2020, he secured the biggest win of his career in Vienna as a wildcard, defeating eighth seed and World No. 12 Denis Shapovalov in straight sets before losing in the second round to Dan Evans.
In 2020, Rodionov made his main draw Grand Slam debut at the French Open as a qualifier, advancing to the second round after defeating Jérémy Chardy in five sets.
In June 2021, Rodionov reached his maiden quarterfinal as a wildcard after Peter Gojowczyk's retirement, followed by a semifinal appearance after defeating Alex De Minaur at the 2021 MercedesCup in Stuttgart. He then retired due to injury. As a result, he reached a career-high ranking of World No. 135 on June 14, 2021.
