Kristi Yamaguchi is an American former competitive figure skater, author, and philanthropist. She achieved significant success as a singles skater, winning the 1992 Olympic gold medal, two World Championships, and the 1992 U.S. Championship. Yamaguchi also competed in pairs skating with Rudy Galindo, securing the 1988 World Junior Championship and two national titles. Notably, in 1992, she made history as the first Asian American to win a gold medal at the Winter Olympics.
