The LMUR (Light Multi-role Unified Missile), also known as Izdeliye 305 or 9A-7755, is a Russian air-to-surface missile designed for helicopter launch. It is intended to engage various ground targets.

In 2007, the acronym "LMUR" first appeared, designating a lightweight missile project from the Tactical Missiles Corporation.

2009: Abandonment of the LMUR project

In 2009, the initial LMUR lightweight missile project from the Tactical Missiles Corporation was abandoned for unknown reasons.

February 2011: R&D order for a new missile

In February 2011, the Russian Ministry of Defence passed a research and development order, code-named Prefix (Префикс in Russian), to KB Mashinostroyeniya for the creation of a new lightweight multirole missile, known as Izdeliye 79.

2012: FSB contracts KBM for Izdeliye 305 development

Around 2012, the FSB contracted KBM for the development of a missile called Izdeliye 305, intended to equip its Mil Mi-8MNP-2 special operations helicopters.

2013: Completion of test missiles

In 2013, a batch of test missiles was completed. However, these could not be tested because the Ministry of Defence had not ordered the development of any launchers.

November 2014: Deadline for serial production

The contract indicated that the new missile would have to be ready for serial production by late November 2014.

2015: Testing of LMUR on Mi-8MNP-2

In 2015–2016, testing of the LMUR missile on the Mil Mi-8MNP-2 helicopters took place.

2016: Testing of LMUR on Mi-8MNP-2

In 2015–2016, testing of the LMUR missile on the Mil Mi-8MNP-2 helicopters took place.

2017: Planning of launcher development on armored vehicle

Around 2017, there were plans to develop a launcher for the LMUR missile based on an armored vehicle.

2017: Termination of the contract

In 2017, KBM officially declared it had stopped the missile's development, and the contract was officially terminated.

2019: LMUR testing on Mil Mi-28NM

In 2019, testing of the LMUR missile started on the Mil Mi-28NM helicopters.

2020: LMUR testing on Kamov Ka-52M

In 2020, testing of the LMUR missile started on the Kamov Ka-52M helicopters.

2021: Mi-28NE variant shown at Dubai Airshow

At the 2021 Dubai Airshow, a new variant of the Mi-28NE was shown with the AS-BPLA datalink antenna located in the nose.

June 2022: Claims of LMUR use in Ukraine

In June 2022, Russian media claimed that the LMUR was being used in Ukraine by Mil Mi-28NM helicopters. Videos reportedly showing footage from the missile's seeker were shared on social media.

November 2022: Combat use videos released

As of late November 2022, more than 40 videos showing combat use of the LMUR in Ukraine had been released.

2022: Adoption of LMUR by Russian Aerospace Forces

In 2022, the Russian Aerospace Forces adopted the LMUR missile.

January 2023: LMUR use by Mi-28NM and Ka-52M in Ukraine

In January 2023, videos appeared online showing Mi-28NM helicopters using the LMUR in combat missions over Ukraine. A Russian source claimed that the missile had started to be used by the recently delivered Ka-52M.

December 2023: Documented uses of LMUR in Ukraine

According to the Lostarmour OSINT project, there had been at least 111 documented uses of LMUR in Ukraine as of December 2023.
