Mathieu Darche is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played in both the American Hockey League (AHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) for multiple teams. He is the younger brother of J. P. Darche. Despite an invitation to remain with the New Jersey Devils after their training camp in January 2013, he chose to retire from professional hockey.
On November 26, 1976, Mathieu Darche was born. He would become a Canadian former professional ice hockey player.
In 1996, Mathieu Darche graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall.
During the 2004-05 NHL lockout, Mathieu Darche spent a full season with the Hershey Bears of the AHL.
In 2005-06, Mathieu Darche played for the Füchse Duisburg of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
In 2006, Mathieu Darche split four seasons between the NHL and AHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators, and their affiliates.
In 2007, Mathieu Darche played a few games with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL but spent most of the season playing for the team's AHL affiliate, the Worcester Sharks.
After starting the 2009-10 season playing for its AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs.
On January 20, 2010, Mathieu Darche played his first game as a Canadien versus the St. Louis Blues.
In January 2013, after attending the New Jersey Devils training camp, Mathieu Darche chose to retire from professional ice hockey.
On May 6, 2019, Mathieu Darche became the Director of Hockey Operations for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In 2020, Mathieu Darche won a Stanley Cup as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
In 2021, Mathieu Darche won a second Stanley Cup as the Director of Hockey Operations for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
