Nick Diaz is an American professional mixed martial artist known for his time in the UFC. He has held welterweight championships in multiple promotions, including Strikeforce, WEC, and IFC, and has also fought for PRIDE, EliteXC, DREAM, and Shooto. Diaz, who previously challenged for a UFC title, is the older brother of fellow former UFC fighter Nate Diaz. The Diaz brothers are considered highly influential figures in MMA.
On August 2, 1983, Nickolas Robert Diaz was born. He would go on to become a professional boxer and mixed martial artist.

On April 17, 2010, at Strikeforce: Nashville, a post-fight interview with Jake Shields following his victory over Dan Henderson was interrupted by Jason "Mayhem" Miller, leading to a brawl involving Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, and other members of the Cesar Gracie fight team. The incident resulted in suspensions and fines for Miller and five other individuals.
