Omar Shariff Sneed is an American professional basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as the head coach for the Beaumont Panthers in The Basketball League (TBL). Sneed, a Texas native, played high school basketball at West Brook in Beaumont.

In the 1992-93 season, during his sophomore year at West Brook High School in Beaumont, Omar Sneed averaged 32 points per game.
In April 1995, Omar Sneed signed with Houston, however, he did not qualify academically to play in the NCAA, and he decided to play for a junior college in the NJCAA, choosing San Jacinto College.
In 1996, Steve Francis joined San Jacinto as a freshman, playing alongside Omar Sneed.
In May 1997, Omar Sneed signed a National Letter of Intent to play for Memphis in the NCAA Division I.
On November 15, 1997, Omar Sneed made his debut with the Memphis Tigers in the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe.
In 1997, San Jacinto reached the championship game during the NJCAA Division I tournament. Omar Sneed was named the 1997 TEAC MVP, included in the All-Conference First Team, named a first-team All-American, and named JUCO National Player of the Year by Basketball Times.
On February 2, 1998, Omar Sneed was named Conference USA Player of the Week.
On March 3, 1999, Omar Sneed played his last game with Memphis against South Florida during the 1999 Conference USA tournament.
In November 1999, Omar Sneed signed with Melco Ieper in Belgium and played one game for the team.
In 2000, Omar Sneed signed for BSW Weert of the Dutch Basketball League.
In 2001, Omar Sneed was the top scorer of the Dutch league.
In the summer of 2001, Omar Sneed played for the Houston Rockets in the Rocky Mountain Revue, an NBA Summer League tournament. He then joined Power Wevelgem in Belgium.
In 2002, Omar Sneed was selected by the Huntsville Flight in the National Basketball Development League draft but joined Znicz Pruszków instead.
In October 2003, Omar Sneed signed for the London Towers in the British Basketball League.
In the 2004-05 season, Omar Sneed played for Elitzur Ashkelon in Israel.
In 2006, Omar Sneed signed a contract for Lokomotiv Rostov of the Russian Super League.
In 2007, Omar Sneed participated in the FIBA EuroCup with Lokomotiv Rostov.
In July 2008, Omar Sneed signed with Hapoel Jerusalem, returning to Israel.
In 2008, Omar Sneed played for Kaveh BC of Tehran in the Iranian Basketball Super League and also played in the WABA Champions Cup with Saba Battery.
In 2009, Omar Sneed left Hapoel Jerusalem and returned to Elitzur Ashkelon for a second stint with the club.
In December 2010, Omar Sneed left Pinar Karşıyaka of the Turkish Basketball Super League.
In late 2011, Omar Sneed participated in the Liga Uruguaya de Básquetbol with Defensor Sporting and later signed for Mersin BB in January 2012.
In January 2012, Omar Sneed signed for Mersin BB and played 15 games during the 2011-12 Turkish Basketball League.
In 2013, Omar Sneed briefly played for Ankara DSİ in the Turkish Basketball First League.
In 2015, Omar Sneed retired from professional basketball after a season in the Turkish second division.
