Rocky is a 1976 sports drama film directed by John G. Avildsen, written by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It's the first film in the Rocky franchise. Rocky Balboa, a small-time boxer and debt collector in Philadelphia, unexpectedly gets the opportunity to fight world heavyweight champion Apollo Creed. The film also stars Talia Shire, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, and Burgess Meredith.
