George Peter DeBoer is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He most recently coached the Dallas Stars in the NHL. While drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1988, he never played in the NHL, spending his playing career with the Milwaukee Admirals of the IHL.
In 1996-97, Peter DeBoer's Detroit Whalers struggled to a 26-34-6 record and were eliminated in the first round of the post-season.
In 2000, Peter DeBoer's Plymouth Whalers advanced all the way to the J. Ross Robertson Cup Finals before losing to the Barrie Colts 4–2 in the seventh and series deciding game.
