Stephen Gilchrist Glover, famously known as Steve-O, gained prominence as a stunt performer and comedian through his involvement in the Jackass franchise, including the original TV series and subsequent films like *Jackass: The Movie*, *Jackass Number Two*, *Jackass 3D*, and *Jackass Forever*. He also starred in the spin-off series *Wildboyz* and *Dr. Steve-O*. Steve-O's career revolves around performing dangerous and often shocking stunts, solidifying his presence in reality television and entertainment.
On June 13, 1974, Stephen Gilchrist Glover, famously known as Steve-O, was born in Wimbledon, London.
In 1997, Steve-O graduated from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. After graduating he was not selected to join the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, but worked as a clown in a circus at the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop flea market.
On May 27, 2003, Steve-O was released from jail in Sweden after paying a fine and reaching a deal with the Swedish prosecutors.
In April 2006, Steve-O sued his manager and attorney, accusing them of lying to him to fund their lavish lifestyles.
On July 19, 2006, Steve-O abruptly left Love Island because he was not allowed beer which he had requested.
In November 2006, Steve-O went on a drug binge after being misdiagnosed with cardiomyopathy.
On March 9, 2008, Steve-O was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold that was lengthened to 14 days due to an alleged suicide attempt after his friends became concerned about an email suggesting a possible suicide.
On June 4, 2008, Steve-O pleaded guilty to felony possession of cocaine, avoiding jail by completing a treatment program.
In May 2010, Knoxville stated that Steve-O's sobriety is at its best and "There is no beer on set this time around even if some of us wish there was".
On September 13, 2011, Steve-O made a joke during the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen that he later apologized for and requested to be removed. He also attempted a stunt with Mike Tyson, resulting in a broken nose. During the taping of the roast, Steve-O claimed to be sober for three and a half years and was visibly upset by a joke about Ryan Dunn's death.
On March 9, 2018, Steve-O celebrated 10 years of sobriety.
On December 15, 2020, it was publicly announced that both Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were hospitalized due to injuries sustained on the set of Jackass Forever. Steve-O broke his collarbone during filming.
In May 2023, Steve-O revealed on his podcast, Steve-O’s Wild Ride!, that he has struggled with sex addiction.
