Stephen Gilchrist Glover, famously known as Steve-O, gained prominence as a stunt performer and comedian through his involvement in the Jackass franchise, including the original TV series and subsequent films like *Jackass: The Movie*, *Jackass Number Two*, *Jackass 3D*, and *Jackass Forever*. He also starred in the spin-off series *Wildboyz* and *Dr. Steve-O*. On June 13, 1974, Stephen Gilchrist Glover, famously known as Steve-O, was born in Wimbledon, London.
In 1997, Steve-O graduated from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. After graduating he was not selected to join the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, but worked as a clown in a circus at the Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop flea market.
In 2001, Steve-O released Don't Try This at Home on DVD, which contained material MTV censored. It sold 140,000 copies.
On July 11, 2002, Steve-O performed at a nightclub in Houma, Louisiana, where he stapled his scrotum to his leg.
On July 31, 2002, Steve-O was arrested on obscenity and assault charges for stapling his scrotum to his leg, and for being a principal to a second-degree battery.

On May 22, 2003, Steve-O was arrested and jailed in Sweden for swallowing a condom containing cannabis to get it past authorities while flying on a plane.
On May 27, 2003, Steve-O was released from jail in Sweden after paying a fine and reaching a deal with the Swedish prosecutors.
On July 19, 2003, Steve-O was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct for urinating on potato chips in public during a Lollapalooza tour concert in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania.
In 2005, Steve-O became the spokesperson for the Sneaux brand of footwear, appearing in television commercials that included his trademark stunts.
On March 27, 2006, Steve-O and Chris Pontius visited The Dean Blundell Show to promote their tour where Steve-O urinated on the floor and performed "Unwrapping the Mummy".
In April 2006, Steve-O sued his manager and attorney, accusing them of lying to him to fund their lavish lifestyles.

On February 23, 2008, Steve-O joined the rest of the Jackass crew for the Jackass MTV 24 Hour Takeover, where he was eventually kicked out of MTV studios for his behavior and intoxication.
On February 25, 2008, Steve-O appeared on The Howard Stern Show to promote his upcoming rap album Hard as a Rock.
On March 9, 2008, Steve-O was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold that was lengthened to 14 days due to an alleged suicide attempt after his friends became concerned about an email suggesting a possible suicide.
On June 4, 2008, Steve-O pleaded guilty to felony possession of cocaine, avoiding jail by completing a treatment program.
In March 2009, Steve-O appeared on Dancing with the Stars paired with Lacey Schwimmer and was eventually eliminated in the sixth week due to back injuries.
On May 3, 2009, MTV premiered a documentary titled Steve-O: Demise and Rise about how his life was affected by the use of drugs and alcohol.

On December 15, 2020, it was publicly announced that both Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were hospitalized due to injuries sustained on the set of Jackass Forever. Steve-O broke his collarbone during filming.
On July 11, 2021, during Shark Week, the Discovery Channel aired Jackass Shark Week, featuring Steve-O and other Jackass cast members.
On April 12, 2022, Steve-O announced the title of his new book as A Hard Kick in the Nuts: What I've Learned from a Lifetime of Terrible Decisions.
