De'Andre Hunter is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. He previously played college basketball at the University of Virginia, where his defensive prowess earned him the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019. He helped lead the Cavaliers to the NCAA National Championship. After a successful college career, he transitioned to the professional level. Hunter was selected 4th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2019 NBA draft and his draft rights were subsequently traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, and finally to the Atlanta Hawks.
