Bloober Team

Bloober Team S.A. is a Polish video game developer, founded in 2008 and based in Kraków. Specializing in horror games, they are renowned for titles like Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, The Medium and the remake of Silent Hill 2. Bloober Team received the Paszport Polityki award in 2018 for Digital Culture. The company also owns the third-party publisher Feardemic.

2006: Nibris Studio Set Up

In 2006, the studio was originally part of Nibris, a developer that was set up but sought independence through investor funding.

November 2008: Company Founded

In November 2008, Bloober Team was founded in Kraków, Poland, by Piotr Babieno and Piotr Bielatowicz.

2009: iFun4all sp. z o.o. Founded

October 2010: Nibris Developers Join Bloober Team

February 2015: Brawl Release

In February 2015, Bloober Team released Brawl to favorable reviews, making it available free of charge for owners of Basement Crawl. This was a rework of their previous game, Basement Crawl.

September 2016: iFun4all Initial Public Offering

On 23 September 2016, iFun4all sp. z o.o., a subsidiary of Bloober Team, had its initial public offering on the NewConnect stock exchange.

2016: Layers of Fear Release

January 2018: Paszport Polityki award received

August 2019: iFun4all Renamed to Draw Distance

On 23 August 2019, Bloober Team's subsidiary iFun4all changed its name to Draw Distance.

2019: Blair Witch Release

October 2022: Silent Hill 2 Remake Announcement

In October 2022, Konami announced that Bloober Team is remaking Silent Hill 2, using Unreal Engine 5. It will be a timed console-exclusive on PlayStation 5 and will also release on Windows through Steam.

2022: New Layers of Fear Confirmed

During Summer Game Fest 2022, Bloober Team confirmed they were working on a new Layers of Fear, described as both a remaster and sequel of the original series, built using Unreal Engine 5.

February 2023: Project M Development

In February 2023, Bloober Team revealed that a title codenamed "Project M" would be entering development, with Draw Distance as the main developer.

April 2024: New Projects Announced

In October 2024, Bloober Team announced a new self-published IP, the survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, for release in 2025.

2024: Silent Hill 2 Release

In 2024, Bloober Team is expected to release Silent Hill 2.

February 2025: New Game with Konami

In February 2025, Bloober Team announced that they are working with Konami on another game following the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
