In 2006, singer-songwriter Justin Vernon founded Bon Iver as an indie folk band. Initially a solo project, the band expanded to include Vernon, Sean Carey, Michael Lewis, Matthew McCaughan, Andrew Fitzpatrick, and Jenn Wasner.
