In July 2024, the Carl’s Jr Australia master franchisee entered voluntary administration, leading to the immediate closure of 20 company-owned restaurants. Despite this, 4 company-owned and 25 independent stores continued to operate. The collapse was attributed to reduced spending, increased costs, and overly optimistic expansion. CKE Restaurants remained committed to expanding in Australia.

November 2024: Creditors elect to liquidate Carl's Jr Australia operator

In November 2024, creditors elected to liquidate the operator of Carl's Jr. Australia. While some stores were successfully sold to franchisees and most of the directly franchised stores reportedly survived, many branch-owned stores closed permanently or were leased to other operators.
