Carson Hocevar

Carson Hocevar is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Spire Motorsports, part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for SS-Green Light Racing with BRK Racing, and part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, also for Spire Motorsports. He was previously associated with the Drivers Edge Development driver development system.

On June 4, 2022, Carson Hocevar broke his right tibia at the ankle during the final lap of the Gateway race and underwent surgery prior to the Sonoma race. He was relieved by Daniel Suarez on lap 11.

March 7, 2023: Spire Motorsports Xfinity Series Expansion

On March 7, 2023, Spire Motorsports announced their expansion to the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Carson Hocevar was scheduled to run six races in their No. 77 car and debut at Circuit of the Americas but had to withdraw from the race at Dover Motor Speedway due to weather conditions. His debut with the team was thus scheduled for the next race at Darlington Raceway where he would finish 6th. He would later finish 8th at Charlotte Motor Speedway but would DNF at Nashville Superspeedway.

May 30, 2023: Drove No. 7 Spire Motorsports Camaro ZL1

On May 30, 2023, Carson Hocevar was named the driver of the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Camaro ZL1 for the Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway Motorsports Park, finishing in 36th place. Hocevar later drove the Legacy Motor Club No. 42 and scored a career-best 11th place finish at the Bristol night race.

October 10, 2023: Joined Spire Motorsports in Cup Series

On October 10, 2023, Carson Hocevar announced that he would join Spire Motorsports in the Cup Series full-time for the 2024 season.

2023: First Career Win and Championship 4

In 2023, Carson Hocevar scored his first career win at Texas in double-overtime, and also had wins at Nashville, Richmond, and Homestead to make the Championship 4. He finished fourth in the final points standings and then was credited with a third-place finish after NASCAR penalized Corey Heim.

2024: Drove Legacy Motor Club No. 42

In 2024, Carson Hocevar drove the Legacy Motor Club No. 42, originally driven by Noah Gragson, then by Josh Berry and Mike Rockenfeller on road courses after Gragson was suspended prior to the Michigan race.

2024: Full-Time in Cup Series and Rookie of the Year

In 2024, Carson Hocevar started full-time in the Cup Series. He scored his first career top-10 finish at Texas. At Nashville, Hocevar spun out Harrison Burton during a caution lap; as a result, he was fined US$50,000 and docked 25 driver points. At Watkins Glen on September 15, Hocevar once again eclipsed his best career NCS finish for the third time in 2024 with a third place finish and would win the NASCAR Rookie of the Year honors.

February 24, 2025: Drove for SS-Green Light Racing

On February 24, 2025, it was announced that Carson Hocevar would drive for SS-Green Light Racing with BRK Racing. He was involved in an early wreck, earning a 38th place DNF.

April 18, 2025: Part-Time with Spire Motorsports

On April 18, 2025, it was announced that Carson Hocevar would drive part-time for Spire Motorsports in their No. 7 truck in four races. In his second start with Spire, he earned his fifth-career win at Kansas.

2025: Second Place Finish at Atlanta

In 2025, Carson Hocevar started the season with a 30th place DNF at the Daytona 500. The following week at Atlanta, Hocevar once again eclipsed his best career NCS finish with a second place in a close, controversial finish. At Texas, he would earn his first career Cup Series pole. Once again at Nashville, Hocevar eclipsed his best-finish after Ryan Blaney beat him.
