In 2009, the tournament was first held after the Order of Merit was replaced by the Race to Dubai. It is contested by the leading 50 players in the DP World Tour Rankings and replaced the Volvo Masters.

2012: Prize fund increase

2012: Bonus Pool Cut in Half
