Alexander David Bregman is an American professional baseball third baseman currently playing for the Boston Red Sox in Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played in MLB for the Houston Astros. He is a prominent figure in professional baseball.

Alex Bregman was named AL Player of the Week on April 10, 2022. Over the four games comprising MLB's Opening Weekend, he batted .429 with two home runs, six RBIs, and a 1.286 OPS.

Defensively, in 2022, he led all AL third basemen in assists, and was second in putouts, double plays, and fielding percentage (.983).

In the second game of the World Series of 2023, Alex Bregman hit a home run, setting the record for the most career World Series home runs by a third baseman, with six. The Astros won the World Series, defeating the Philadelphia Phillies in six games. Bregman earned his second World Series ring.
On April 25, 2024, Alex Bregman recorded his 1,000th career hit, a single in the sixth inning of a 3–1 loss to the Chicago Cubs. He became the 14th player to amass as many hits as a member of the Astros.
Following the 2024 season, Alex Bregman departed the Astros and signed with the Red Sox. Bregman has made his third All-Star appearance in his first year with the Red Sox.
For the 2024 season, Alex Bregman batted .260/.315/.453 over 145 games with 30 doubles, 26 home runs, and 75 RBI. Following the season, in 2024, Bregman became a free agent after rejecting a one-year qualifying offer from the Astros, and was named AL Gold Glove Award winner at third base for the first time.
