Dillon Dingler is a professional baseball catcher currently playing for the Detroit Tigers in MLB. He made his major league debut in 2024, marking the start of his professional career at the highest level of baseball.

In 2017, Dillon Dingler was undrafted in the Major League Baseball draft and subsequently enrolled at Ohio State University to play college baseball for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In 2018, as a freshman at Ohio State, Dingler batted .244 with four home runs and 17 RBIs over 53 games, earning Big Ten Conference All-Freshman honors.
In 2019, during his sophomore year, Dillon Dingler was named team captain, and despite missing 19 games due to a broken hamate bone, he slashed .291/.392/.424 and was named to the All-Big Ten second team. As a junior in 2019, he was again named a team captain, hitting .340 before the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2020, Dillon Dingler was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the second round of the Major League Baseball draft. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he did not play a minor league game in 2020.
In 2021, Dillon Dingler was assigned to the West Michigan Whitecaps and later promoted to the Erie SeaWolves on June 13 after a strong performance. He was placed on the injured list in early August with a finger injury but returned in early September.
In 2022, Dillon Dingler returned to the Erie SeaWolves and was selected to represent the Tigers at the 2022 All-Star Futures Game. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League for the Salt River Rafters.
On March 16, 2023, it was reported that Dillon Dingler would be out for four weeks after undergoing a meniscectomy procedure on his right knee.
On November 14, 2023, the Detroit Tigers added Dillon Dingler to their 40-man roster to protect him from the Rule 5 draft.
On July 29, 2024, Dillon Dingler was promoted to the major leagues for the first time. His first career hit was an RBI double against the Cleveland Guardians on July 29, 2024.
