In June 1960, Filiz Akın graduated from TED Ankara College Foundation Schools. She had been a successful student, earning awards for her paintings and compositions, and was chosen as an ideal student. After graduation, she began working at the Ankara branch of American Export-Isbrandtsen Lines.
