Flightradar24 is a Swedish internet service providing real-time aircraft flight tracking. It displays flight information on a map, including origins, destinations, flight numbers, aircraft types, positions, altitude, headings, and speed. Users can access time-lapse replays and historical flight data. The service aggregates data from various sources, including crowdsourced information from volunteers with ADS-B receivers and satellite-based ADS-B receivers, offering comprehensive air traffic monitoring.

August 2010: Flightradar24 releases iOS application

In August 2010, Flightradar24 launched an iOS application. This followed increased exposure due to international media reliance on the service during the Eyjafjallajökull volcano eruptions.

August 2014: Japanese Air Force One flight data blocked

In August 2014, Flightradar24 blocked ADS-B information for the Japanese Air Force One aircraft following a request from the Japanese Ministry of Defense due to security and privacy concerns. Consequently, the aircraft's flight track was no longer posted on the site.

August 2022: Pelosi's flight to Taiwan becomes most tracked

In August 2022, SPAR19, the plane carrying Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan, became the most tracked flight to date on Flightradar24, with over 708,000 people tracking it as it landed in Taipei, and over 2,900,000 following at least a portion of the flight.

September 2022: Flight tracking Queen Elizabeth II's coffin sets record

In September 2022, the flight carrying the coffin of Queen Elizabeth II was tracked by 6,000,000 users in the first minute after the transponder activated, with 4,790,000 following a portion of the flight, becoming the most tracked flight of all time. The website processed 76,200,000 requests related to the flight over its course. Initially, the site crashed due to the sheer number of users.
