Hailey Van Lith, often referred to as HVL, is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA. Prior to turning professional, she had a notable college career, playing for the Louisville Cardinals, LSU Tigers, and TCU Horned Frogs. Her career reflects a transition from college basketball to the professional level.
In 1995, Jennifer Stinson set the record for all-time leading scorer in the state, which was broken by Hailey Van Lith on February 15, 2020.

In 2018, Hailey Van Lith represented the United States at the FIBA Under-17 World Cup in Belarus and won a gold medal, averaging five points and two assists in 13.6 minutes per game in the tournament.

On November 16, 2019, Hailey Van Lith committed to playing college basketball for Louisville, choosing the Cardinals over an offer from Baylor.
In 2019, Hailey Van Lith averaged 9.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, helping the United States win the gold medal at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup in Thailand. In the final, she scored 16 points and made the game-tying basket in regulation to help her team defeat Australia, 74–70, in overtime.
In 2019, Hailey Van Lith led her team to a gold medal at the FIBA 3x3 Under-18 World Cup in Mongolia, where she was named MVP.

On November 25, 2020, Hailey Van Lith made her collegiate debut for Louisville, scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds in a 74–53 win over Southeast Missouri State.
In 2020, Hailey Van Lith was considered a five-star recruit, the number seven player and the top combo guard in her class by ESPN.
On March 5, 2021, in the ACC tournament quarterfinals, Hailey Van Lith recorded a season-high 24 points, five rebounds, and four steals in a 65–53 win against Wake Forest.
