Irene Stickland

Irene Stickland is a Canadian hospital administrator and Salvation Army officer, recognized for her leadership at the Scarborough Grace Hospital (later Scarborough Health Network). From 1989 to 1999, she served as President and CEO, then as Deputy CEO and Executive Vice-President until her 2003 retirement. As a Salvation Army Lieutenant-Colonel, Stickland played a key role in the hospital's development and led it through the 2003 SARS outbreak in Toronto. Her contributions are commemorated by the "Irene Stickland Education Centre" at Scarborough’s Birchmount Hospital.
