Ishan Kishan is an Indian international cricketer known for his role as a wicket-keeper batsman across all formats of the game. He represents the Indian national cricket team and made his international debut in March 2021 against England. Domestically, he plays for Jharkhand. Furthermore, he participates in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Ishan Kishan was born on 18 July 1998 in Patna, Bihar. His father, Pranav Kumar Pandey, is a builder by profession.
On 6 November 2016, Ishan Kishan scored 273 runs against Delhi in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, setting a new record for a player for Jharkhand in the competition.

IPL 2020 proved to be the breakthrough tournament for Ishan Kishan as he scored 516 runs, being the highest scorer for Mumbai Indians in the 2020 season, and won the award for hitting the most sixes during the season.
In October 2019, Ishan Kishan was named in the India A squad for the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy.
In February 2021, on the opening day of the 2020–21 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ishan Kishan scored 173 runs against Madhya Pradesh, contributing to a record score of 422.
In March 2021, Ishan Kishan made his international debut against England, scoring 56 runs from 32 balls and winning the player of the match award.
In October 2022, Ishan Kishan scored his then-ODI career-highest score of 93 runs in the second of three ODIs against the touring South Africans.
In December 2022, Ishan Kishan scored 210 runs in 131 balls in an ODI match against Bangladesh, becoming the cricketer with the fastest ODI double century, the youngest cricketer to score an ODI double century and the first to convert a maiden ODI century to a double century.
Ahead of the 2022 IPL, Ishan Kishan was bought again by Mumbai for ₹15.25 crore.

After an absence of over two years, Ishan Kishan made his return to the Indian team during the first T20I against New Zealand at Nagpur in January 2026.
On 23 January 2026, Ishan Kishan scored 76 runs off 32 balls in the second T20I against New Zealand at Raipur. He reached his half-century in 21 deliveries, setting a record for the second fastest T20I fifty by an Indian batter against New Zealand.
On 31 January 2026, Ishan Kishan smashed his maiden T20I century in the fifth T20I against New Zealand, scoring 103 runs off 43 balls.
On 12 February 2026, Ishan Kishan became the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a half-century in T20 World Cup history, scoring 61 runs off 24 balls against Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
