Lisa Cook is an American economist who made history in 2022 as the first Black woman to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Prior to this appointment, she held positions such as being elected to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in January 2022 and working as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Her career is notable for breaking barriers and contributing to economic policy at the highest levels.
