History of Ro Khanna in Timeline
Ro Khanna is an American politician currently serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 17th congressional district since 2017. A Democrat, he unseated Mike Honda in 2016 after an initial attempt in 2014. Before entering Congress, Khanna served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Commerce under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2011. He is known for his progressive views and has been a vocal supporter of Bernie Sanders, endorsing him in 2016 and co-chairing Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign.
