Nikola Jokić, nicknamed "Joker", is a Serbian professional basketball player for the Denver Nuggets. As a center, he's considered one of the greatest NBA players and centers ever, notable as a draft steal. An eight-time NBA All-Star, Jokić has seven All-NBA Team selections and three NBA MVP awards (2020–21, 2021–22, and 2023-24). He won a silver medal with the Serbian national team at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and a bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
On December 8, Jokić scored a then career-high 56 points in a loss against the Washington Wizards. It was just the third time in NBA history that a player had tallied 56 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists in a game. The other two instances were Elgin Baylor in 1959 and Luka Doncic (2022).
In the 1961-1962 season, Oscar Robertson had at least 2,000 points, 900 rebounds, and 700 assists. Jokić became just the second player in NBA history to have these stats in a season.

On October 29, 2025, Nikola Jokić recorded his fourth consecutive triple-double to start the season, becoming the third player in NBA history, after Oscar Robertson in 1961-62, to achieve this.
In 1962, Oscar Robertson was the only other player in NBA history to achieve Jokić's stat line of 29 points, 18 rebounds and 16 assists in a triple-double game, reaching those totals twice.

In 1977, Jokic became the first player in NBA history to score or assist on 70+ points in a playoff game without committing a turnover.
In 1982, Magic Johnson opened an NBA season with a triple-double. Jokić matched that feat in 2023, becoming the third reigning Finals MVP to do so.
In 1984, Jokić and the Nuggets surpassed Magic Johnson and the Lakers' record for consecutive team wins when a player had a triple-double in NBA history.
In the 1987 NBA Finals, Magic Johnson and James Worthy put up at least 25 points and 10 assists in an NBA Finals game. Jokić and Jamal Murray would later join this achievement.

In 2011, Carmelo Anthony last earned back-to-back All-Star honors for the Nuggets before Jokić achieved the same feat on January 30, 2020.
In 2013, Jokić was a member of the Serbian U-19 national basketball team that won the silver medal at the FIBA Under-19 World Championship, averaging 7.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game over eight tournament games.
In 2014, Jokić was selected 41st overall in the NBA draft, becoming the lowest-drafted player in NBA history to be named MVP.
