Porter Martone is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He plays right wing for the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League (NHL). Martone was drafted sixth overall by the Flyers in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. In short, he is a rising young talent in professional hockey.
During the 2021-22 season, Porter Martone scored 41 goals and 63 assists in 53 games for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 AAA, also helping the team win the silver medal at the OHL Cup.
On May 21, 2022, Porter Martone signed with the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The contract included a no-trade clause.
In the 2022–23 season, Porter Martone debuted with the Sarnia Sting, playing a supporting bottom-six forward role.
On January 7, 2023, Porter Martone was traded to the Mississauga Steelheads along with Angus MacDonnell in exchange for Ethan Del Mastro and Luca Del Bel Belluz. He waived his no-trade clause in his contract with the Sting.
During the 2023–24 OHL season, Porter Martone continued his junior career with the Steelheads, where he recorded 33 goals and 38 assists in 60 games, becoming one of the league's leading goal scorers. Media outlets compared him to Matthew Knies and Corey Perry during the season.
In 2023, Porter Martone was selected as one of the four 16-year-olds for the World U18 Championships, recording three goals and three assists, and helping Canada win a bronze medal. Martone was also selected for the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he scored seven goals and eight assists as Canada won a gold medal.
In 2024, Porter Martone was selected as the only returnee and the captain for Canada at the IIHF World U18 Championships. During the tournament Martone broke an all-time Canadian points record with 22, surpassing Connor Bedard. He ended the tournament with five goals and 12 assists, and also won a gold medal. Following the tournament, Martone was named to the 2024 U18 WJC All-Star Team.
On July 21, 2025, Porter Martone committed to play NCAA Division I men's ice hockey with Michigan State for the 2025–26 season, departing from the OHL.
In 2025, Porter Martone joined the Canadian men's national team at its pre-tournament camp for the IIHF World Championship. He made his debut with the senior men's national team in Canada's final preliminary round game against Sweden after being added to the roster to replace injured forward Bo Horvat.
