The Script is an Irish pop-rock band formed in Dublin in 2001, currently consisting of Danny O'Donoghue, Glen Power, Benjamin Sargent and Ben Weaver (guitar). Mark Sheehan was a member of the band up until his death in 2023. They gained prominence after moving to London and signing with Sony Label Group, releasing their self-titled debut album in 2008, which featured hit singles like "We Cry" and "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" and topped charts in Ireland and the UK. Their subsequent albums, including Science & Faith, #3, and No Sound Without Silence, also achieved chart-topping success in Ireland and the UK, with singles like "For the First Time" and "Hall of Fame." Freedom Child (2017) featured "Rain," and Sunsets & Full Moons (2019) included "The Last Time." A Greatest Hits album was released in 2021.
In 1996, Danny O'Donoghue and Mark Sheehan, who were best friends since they were 12, formed the boy band Mytown in Dublin.
In 2001, The Script was formed in Dublin, Ireland.
In 2005, The Script signed with Phonogenic and released an EP on Last.FM.
