Tyler Myers is a Canadian-American professional ice hockey defenceman and alternate captain for the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL. Drafted 12th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 2008, he won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's best rookie in 2010. Noted for his height, standing at 6 ft 8 in, he's one of the tallest active players in the NHL. Early in his career he earned the nicknames "The Big Easy" or "Big Tex" due to his Houston birth, and later, "Chaos Giraffe" from Vancouver fans.
Tyler Myers, a defenseman, was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Dallas Stars. The Stars acquired him in exchange for two draft picks. The Canucks held Myers out for trade-related reasons.
