Joseph Edgar Foreman, professionally known as Afroman, is an American rapper and singer recognized for his comedic and often satirical hip-hop style. He gained widespread fame with his major label debut album, *The Good Times* (2001), which featured the hit singles "Because I Got High" and "Crazy Rap." Afroman's success led to a Grammy Award nomination the following year, solidifying his place in pop culture.

In 1999, Afroman released the album 'Sell Your Dope'. He moved to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he met drummer Jody Stallone, keyboardist/bassist Darrell Havard, and producer Tim Ramenofsky.
In 2000, Afroman's album 'Because I Got High' was produced and released by Tim Ramenofsky on T-Bones Records, distributed locally and via Napster.

In 2001, the song "Because I Got High" became a hit, featured in films and leading Afroman to join Cypress Hill's festival and sign a six-album deal with Universal Records, also releasing 'The Good Times'.

In August 2022, the Adams County, Ohio Sheriff's Department searched Afroman's home on suspicion of kidnapping and drug trafficking, but found nothing incriminating.
On December 20, 2022, Afroman announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election, citing inflation, the housing market, law enforcement corruption, and marijuana legalization as key issues.
On December 29, 2022, Afroman released three music videos on his YouTube account, using security camera footage of the raid on his home, criticizing the police.

On March 14, 2023, seven police officers from the Adams County Sheriff's office sued Afroman for using their likenesses in his music videos about the raid on his home, alleging invasion of privacy.
In 2023, Afroman stated in an interview with DJ Vlad that Midwesterners and Southerners were more willing to experiment with their taste in music than people in Los Angeles, which helped him in his career.
