Archie Manning is a former NFL quarterback, best known for playing with the New Orleans Saints for the majority of his 14-season career. While he achieved individual success, team success eluded him. More significantly, he is the patriarch of the Manning football family, fathering two Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks, Peyton and Eli Manning. His impact extends beyond his own playing career through his sons' accomplishments and the family's prominent role in American football.
On May 19, 1949, Elisha Archibald Manning III, known as Archie Manning, was born. He later became a professional football quarterback and patriarch of the Manning football dynasty.
