Damir Džumhur is a Bosnian professional tennis player who achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 23 on July 2, 2018. This accomplishment marks him as the highest-ranked tennis player to ever represent Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is currently recognized as Bosnia and Herzegovina's top-ranked player.
On May 20, 1992, Damir Džumhur was born in Sarajevo to Nerfid and Žaneta Džumhur, near the Zetra Olympic Hall shortly after the outbreak of the Bosnian War.
In 1994, Nerfid Džumhur, Damir's father, started a tennis school.
In 1999, Damir Džumhur started practicing tennis professionally after the renovated Zetra Olympic Hall opened.

On October 22, 2017, Damir Džumhur won the Kremlin Cup. He then reached the second round in Vienna. He ended his most successful season to-date on an improved ranking of world No. 30.
In 2018, Damir Džumhur's improved ranking qualified him to be a Commitment Player and have a seeding at the Australian Open, for the first time at any Grand Slam.

In April 2024, Damir Džumhur, seeded second, won his ninth Challenger title at the 2024 Open Città della Disfida, defeating top seed Harold Mayot. This victory resulted in his return to the top 150 in the rankings.
In August 2024, after securing two more Challenger titles in Ostrava and Zagreb, Damir Džumhur returned to the top 100 rankings for the first time since 2020.
In November and December of 2024, Damir Džumhur lifted his sixth straight trophy at the Maia Challenger in Portugal, defeating Italian Francesco Passaro, which ensured his place inside the top 100, at world No. 83 in the ATP singles rankings on 2 December 2024.
