Jack Flaherty is a professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Detroit Tigers in MLB. Drafted in the first round by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014, he debuted in MLB with the Cardinals in 2017. He has also played for the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers.

In 2019, Flaherty finished the regular season with an 11–8 record and a 2.75 ERA, striking out 231 over 1961⁄3 innings. He was nominated for a Gold Glove and finished fourth in National League Cy Young Award voting.
In 2020, Flaherty made his first Opening Day start in the pandemic-shortened season, going 4–3 with a 4.91 ERA. He also made a Wild Card Series start.
For the 2021 season, Flaherty appeared in 17 games (making 15 starts), going 9–2 with a 3.22 ERA, 85 strikeouts, and 26 walks over 78+1⁄3 innings.
In 2021, Flaherty won his salary arbitration case against the Cardinals. He made his second consecutive Opening Day start and hit his first career home run on May 8. He was placed on the injured list on May 31 and again on August 25.
On January 13, 2023, Flaherty agreed to a one-year, $5.4 million contract, avoiding salary arbitration.
On August 1, 2023, Flaherty was traded to the Baltimore Orioles.
On December 20, 2023, Flaherty signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Detroit Tigers.
On July 30, 2024, the Tigers traded Flaherty to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In 2024, Flaherty had a 7-5 record with a 2.95 ERA and 133 strikeouts in 18 starts for Detroit.
In 2024, Flaherty pitched in the NLDS and NLCS, with varying results. He started Game 1 of the World Series against the Yankees, allowing two runs. He pitched poorly in Game 5 of the World Series but the Dodgers won the game and the series.
