Jonathan dos Santos is a Mexican professional footballer currently playing as a defensive midfielder for Club América in Liga MX. Dos Santos' career includes playing for clubs such as Barcelona, Villarreal, and LA Galaxy before returning to Mexico. He is also a member of the Mexico national team. He is known for his passing, tackling, and tactical awareness in the midfield position. He is the brother of Giovani dos Santos, who is also a professional football player.

In August 2009, Jonathan dos Santos was called up for his first official game with FC Barcelona's first team in the Supercopa de España against Athletic Bilbao. Although he was ruled out and watched the game as a spectator.
On October 28, 2009, Jonathan dos Santos made his debut for Barcelona, coming on as a substitute for Seydou Keita in the 80th minute in a Copa del Rey match against Cultural Leonesa, which Barcelona won 2–0.
On November 24, 2009, Jonathan dos Santos made his Champions League debut for Barcelona against Internazionale in a 2–0 win at the Camp Nou, replacing Andrés Iniesta in the 92nd minute.
On December 29, 2009, Jonathan dos Santos was one of four Barça B players called up to the Barcelona first team by Pep Guardiola due to player breaks.
