Jordan Binnington is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the St. Louis Blues in the NHL. Drafted by the Blues in 2011, he played junior hockey for the Owen Sound Attack, earning accolades like the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy and the Jim Rutherford Trophy. After spending several seasons in the minor leagues, Binnington finally made his NHL debut in 2016. His pivotal call-up in December 2018 led to him becoming the Blues' starting goaltender. Binnington's exceptional performance was instrumental in the Blues' remarkable turnaround, culminating in their 2019 Stanley Cup victory, where he set a record for the most wins by a rookie goalie in a single post-season (16). He beat Sweden in the first game of the round-robin tournament, and the final round-robin game against Finland would be a crucial one, as whoever won this game would play the United States in the championship. He led Team Canada to another international Canadian victory with a final score of 3–2.
In May 2025, Jordan Binnington was invited again to play for Team Canada at the 2025 World Championship. Binnington's first start was Canada's third game, a 5–0 victory over France on May 13. However, in the quarterfinals, Denmark upset Team Canada in 2–1 win, knocking them out of the tournament.
