Kris Boyd is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is now working as a sports pundit. Boyd is best known for his prolific goalscoring record, particularly in the Scottish Premiership. His career included spells at Kilmarnock, Rangers, and briefly in England, Turkey, and the United States. After retiring from playing, he transitioned to media work, providing commentary and analysis on football matches.

In October 2008, Kris Boyd declared he would no longer play international football under manager George Burley, after being left on the bench during a World Cup qualifying match against Norway. Burley's comments about Boyd needing to establish himself in the Rangers team led to Boyd's decision.
