1989: The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Aired

In 1989, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! replaced the cancelled animation block Super Mario Bros. Power Hour, which had considered a Metroid animated series. Mother Brain appeared as a villain in the Captain N: The Game Master TV show.
