Mu Sochua is a prominent Cambodian politician and human rights activist. She served as a Member of Parliament for Battambang for multiple terms (1998-2003, 2013-2017) and held the position of Minister of Women and Veterans' Affairs (1998-2004) within Hun Sen's coalition government. A key figure in Cambodian opposition politics, she was a Vice President of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) until its dissolution. Currently, she faces a five-year ban from political activities, along with other senior opposition members, following a 2017 court ruling.
