TGL is a golf league created by TMRW Sports, a company founded by Mike McCarley, Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy in partnership with the PGA Tour. The league merges traditional golf with simulated indoor elements, showcasing PGA Tour players. Its inaugural season commenced in 2025, with matches scheduled on weeknights to align with the PGA Tour's schedule.

In August 2022, a report by Sports Business Journal indicated that NBC Sports had an option to carry league events.

February 20, 2023: SoFi Center Groundbreaking

On February 20, 2023, TMRW Sports broke ground on the SoFi Center, an indoor venue in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in partnership with Palm Beach State College. The venue will include educational and recreational facilities.

October 5, 2023: ESPN Secures Media Rights for TGL

Shane Lowry recorded the league's first tee shot and Ludvig Åberg secured the first hole won (on a birdie). Approximately one million viewers tuned in to watch the opening night of TGL.

January 2025: TGL Play Delayed to January 2025

Due to damage to the SoFi Center construction site in November 2023, the commencement of TGL play was delayed a full year, from January 2024 to January 2025. The facility was redesigned with a traditional steel roof and technological improvements.

March 2025: Inaugural TGL Season Concludes

In March 2025, the inaugural season of TGL concluded with Atlanta Drive GC winning the TGL Championship against New York GC.

2025: Inaugural TGL Season

In 2025, the inaugural season of TGL, a golf league created by TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA Tour, began. The matches were held on weeknights to accommodate the PGA Tour schedule, combining traditional golf with simulated indoor elements.

2025: TGL Announces Expansion Team

In May of 2025, TGL announced an expansion team: the Motor City Golf Club from Detroit. They are expected to start play during the 2027 season.

2025: TGL Broadcast Features

The 2025 TGL broadcasts on ESPN featured Scott Van Pelt hosting from his SportsCenter studio, except for the SoFi Cup Finals which was hosted on-site at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens. Matt Barrie called the play, Marty Smith conducted sideline reports, and Roberto Castro provided analysis. Broadcasts included live-mic comments, interviews, and overhead, course-level, and bunker cameras. The SmartPin Cam received a Cynopsis Sports Media Award.
