Tame Impala

Tame Impala is the psychedelic music project spearheaded by Australian musician Kevin Parker. In the studio, Parker single-handedly writes, records, performs, and produces the music. For live performances, Tame Impala expands to include Dominic Simper, Jay Watson, Cam Avery, Julien Barbagallo, and James Ireland. The group is closely associated with the band Pond, with shared members like Nick Allbrook, who was previously a live member of Tame Impala. Initially signed to Modular Recordings, Tame Impala is currently signed to Interscope Records in the U.S. and Fiction Records in the UK.

2007: Project Conception in Perth

May 2010: Innerspeaker album tour as opening act for MGMT

On May 13, 2010, Tame Impala commenced the Innerspeaker album tour as the opening act for MGMT's 2010 American tour.

May 2010: Release of Innerspeaker

On May 21, 2010, Tame Impala's debut album Innerspeaker was released. In the UK the official release date was June 28, but iTunes accidentally made it available for purchase on May 12.

November 2010: Innerspeaker Wins J Award

On November 29, 2010, Innerspeaker won Triple J's J Award for Album of the Year.

2010: Innerspeaker Album Release

In 2010, Tame Impala's debut studio album, Innerspeaker, was released. It was certified gold in Australia and well received by critics.

2010: Big Day Out Festival Appearance

2013: International Tour Continues

Tame Impala's international tour continued through 2013, including appearances at major festivals such as Coachella and Sasquatch Festival, and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

May 2014: Growing Inclination Toward New Album

January 2015: Announcement of New Album
