Kenneth "Trey" Murphy III is a professional basketball player currently playing for the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA. He played college basketball for both Rice Owls and Virginia Cavaliers. In his 2020-21 season with Virginia, he accomplished the rare feat of achieving a 50–40–90 season, shooting 50% from the field, 43% from three-point range, and 93% from the free-throw line.
On June 18, 2000, Kenneth "Trey" Murphy III was born. He would later become a professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans.

In late December 2020, Trey Murphy made his first start for Virginia against William & Mary and remained a starter for the rest of the season.
On June 21, 2021, Trey Murphy announced he was forgoing his remaining college eligibility and signed with an agent, officially declaring for the 2021 NBA draft.
On August 10, 2021, Trey Murphy signed his rookie scale contract with the New Orleans Pelicans after being traded by the Memphis Grizzlies.
On February 5, 2023, Trey Murphy scored a then season-high 30 points in a win over the Sacramento Kings.
On October 3, 2024, the Pelicans announced that Trey Murphy would miss the start of the regular season due to a right hamstring strain suffered during training camp practice.
