May 2018: Ospreay Challenges Havoc

On May 7, 2018, day 3 of the 2018 Super Strong Style 16 tournament, Will Ospreay challenged Jimmy Havoc to a match at Wembley Arena on 30 September 2018, but was forced to withdraw due to contractual obligations with New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

June 2018: Frontline Wrestling launch and sale

2018: NEVER Openweight Championship win

In 2018, Will Ospreay defeated Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 13 on January 4th to capture the NEVER Openweight Championship, becoming the first Junior Heavyweight to hold the championship. He defended the title against Chris Brookes at RevPro New Year's Resolution and against Dalton Castle at Honor Rising: Japan 2018 on February 22nd. He also faced IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White at New Japan's Anniversary Show in a losing effort.

2018: King of Pro-Wrestling and NEVER Openweight Championship pursuit

In 2018, at King of Pro-Wrestling, Will Ospreay teamed with Hirooki Goto and Tomohiro Ishii to defeat Suzuki-gun, with Ospreay pinning Taichi. He then challenged Taichi for the NEVER Openweight Championship, hinting at a move to the Heavyweight division. The match was scheduled for Power Struggle, but it was canceled due to Ospreay's injury.
