Denver Airport station is a key commuter rail station connecting Denver International Airport to Downtown Denver via the A Line. The A Line provides service to Union Station in approximately 37 minutes with six stops. Trains depart about every 15 minutes offering frequent and reliable transportation to and from the airport.

1989: Master Plan Included Transit Connection

In 1989, the master plan for Denver International Airport included provisions for a future transit connection, and the main Jeppesen Terminal was designed to accommodate it.

1997: Rail Link Studied

In 1997, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) first studied a rail link to Denver Airport.

November 2004: FasTracks Expansion Package Approved

In November 2004, funding for the rail link to Denver Airport became available after voters approved the FasTracks expansion package.

November 25, 2015: Westin Hotel Opens

On November 25, 2015, the 519-room Westin hotel, designed by architecture firm Gensler, opened above the Denver Airport station tracks, several months before the station itself. The project also included an 82,000 square feet (7,600 m) open-air plaza and achieved a LEED Platinum rating.

April 22, 2016: A Line Opens

On April 22, 2016, the Denver Airport station opened to the public along with the rest of the A Line, a 23.5-mile (37.8 km) rail line built and operated through the Eagle P3 public-private partnership.
