The Hoosier Lottery is the official state-run lottery of Indiana, established in 1989 following a voter-approved constitutional amendment. Managed by the State Lottery Commission of Indiana and operated by IGT Indiana under a public-private partnership, the lottery offers a variety of games, including scratch-offs, daily draw games like Pick 3 and Cash 5, and multi-state jackpot games such as Powerball and Mega Millions. Its primary mission is to generate revenue for the state, with proceeds supporting various public programs, including the Teachers' Retirement Fund, the Build Indiana Fund, and the Pension Relief Fund. Since its inception, the lottery has contributed billions of dollars to state initiatives, balancing responsible gaming practices with its mandate to provide entertainment and funding for Indiana’s infrastructure, education, and local government services.
