Joshua Lee Williams is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. Primarily known for his NASCAR Xfinity Series career, where he last competed full-time, driving the No. 11 Chevrolet SS for Kaulig Racing. Beyond his driving career, Williams also owns Josh Williams Motorsports, which focuses on developing up-and-coming drivers in series such as ARCA Menards, Late Model Stock Cars, Legend Cars, and Bandoleros. His involvement extends from participating as a driver to fostering talent in the racing world.

2009: Participation in Humpy's Heroes Program

In 2009, Josh Williams earned a spot in "Humpy's Heroes", a summer driver development program run by Humpy Wheeler for young drivers. This was after his early career in go-kart racing, Fastrucks and Legends cars.

2010: ARCA Racing Series Debut

2016: Xfinity Series Starts

In 2016, Josh Williams made two Xfinity Series starts as a start and park driver, one for Jimmy Means Racing and one for King Autosport.

April 21, 2017: Bristol Motor Speedway Xfinity Race

On April 21, 2017, Josh Williams was announced as the driver of King's No. 90 entry for the spring Bristol Motor Speedway Xfinity race. Longtime friend Mario Gosselin helped Williams get the ride.

2017: Limited ARCA Appearances

In 2017, Josh Williams expressed interest in running more ARCA Racing Series races. His team participated in two races in partnership with Lira Motorsports, and Williams achieved a fourth-place finish at the Salem Speedway throwback weekend.

2018: ARCA Finish at Talladega

In 2018, Williams returned to the ARCA series, driving the No. 6 Chevrolet at Talladega in partnership with Our Motorsports, and finishing in fifth place.

2018: Majority of Races in No. 90 and Crew Chief Role

In 2018, Williams took over the majority of the races in the No. 90 and served as crew chief for drivers of the 90 like Donald Theetge and Andy Lally on most weekends when he was not driving.

January 29, 2019: Move to DGM Racing

On January 29, 2019, Josh Williams moved to DGM's No. 36 car for the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

2020: Returns to DGM

In 2020, Williams returned to DGM, piloting the team's No. 92 entry and achieving two top-ten finishes in October, including a career-best sixth-place finish at Kansas Speedway, which came shortly after the death of one of Williams' employees.

2021: Full Season Effort Confirmed with DGM, Then Departure

On October 31, 2020, Williams and DGM confirmed another full-season effort in 2021. Following the 2021 season, Williams and DGM parted ways as Williams pursued an opportunity that would help him race on Sundays.

August 22, 2022: Returns to DGM Racing

On August 22, 2022, Josh Williams announced his return to his old No. 92 for DGM. He would drive that car as well as the team's No. 36 car for the rest of 2022.

2022: First NASCAR Cup Series Start

In 2022, Josh Williams made his first career NASCAR Cup Series start at the Food City Dirt Race, driving the No. 78 for Live Fast Motorsports.

2022: Move to B. J. McLeod Motorsports

In 2022, Josh Williams moved to the No. 78 car, driving for B. J. McLeod Motorsports.

2023: Suspension for actions at Atlanta Motor Speedway

In 2023, Josh Williams returned to the No. 92 car full-time. At Atlanta, he sustained heavy damage; when debris from his repaired car caused another caution, NASCAR parked him. Williams then stopped his car on the start/finish line and walked back to pit road, resulting in a suspension for the COTA race on March 21.

2024: Drives the No. 11 Car for Kaulig Racing

In 2024, Josh Williams drove the No. 11 car for Kaulig Racing, struggling throughout the season and scoring four top-ten finishes, with a best of seventh at Portland. He finished the season in eighteenth in the final points standings.

July 30, 2025: Released from Kaulig Racing

On July 30, 2025, Josh Williams was released from Kaulig Racing for the remainder of the season. At the time, Williams was nineteenth in the standings with two top-ten finishes.
