On October 11, 2019, Marshall Warren scored his first career goal in his NCAA debut in a game against Wisconsin while playing for Boston College. He also ranked second in Hockey East among rookie defensemen in goals, and led all freshmen defensemen in the league with a +22 rating.
In 2019, Marshall Warren recorded eight goals and 26 assists in 58 games for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (USNTDP) under-18 team and was drafted in the sixth round, 166th overall, by the Minnesota Wild in the 2019 NHL entry draft.
In 2019, Marshall Warren represented the United States at the IIHF World U18 Championships, where he served as alternate captain, recorded three assists in seven games, and won a bronze medal.
During the 2020–21 season, in his sophomore year, Marshall Warren recorded three goals and eight assists in 23 games. He also helped the Eagles win the Hockey East regular season championship.
During the 2021–22 season, in his junior year, Marshall Warren recorded six goals and 15 assists in 37 games.
In 2022, during the first round of the Hockey East tournament against New Hampshire, Marshall Warren assisted on the game-winning overtime goal by Marc McLaughlin. He was also named captain for the 2022–23 season, becoming the first black player to serve as captain in program history.
On March 27, 2023, Marshall Warren entered the NCAA transfer portal, finishing his career at Boston College with 20 goals and 37 assists in 130 games.
On April 14, 2023, Marshall Warren transferred to Michigan for his final year of eligibility.
During the 2023–24 AHL season, Marshall Warren was assigned to the Islanders's AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders, for the remainder of the season on an amateur tryout (ATO).
On April 16, 2024, Marshall Warren signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the New York Islanders and was assigned to the Bridgeport Islanders on an amateur tryout (ATO).
On October 23, 2025, Marshall Warren was recalled by the New York Islanders from Bridgeport.
