Patrick Beverley is an American professional basketball player known for his tenacious defense and outspoken personality on the court. After playing college basketball for Arkansas, he spent several years playing professionally overseas before joining the NBA in 2013 with the Houston Rockets. He is known as the "Chihuahua" for his constant talking to referees and players despite his small stature. He last played for Hapoel Tel Aviv. Beverley's career is defined by his defensive intensity and competitive spirit.

At the end of the season, in 2017 Patrick Beverley was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to earn All-Defensive First Team honors and the first since Scottie Pippen in 1998–99. He also won the NBA Hustle Award.
In 2006, as a freshman playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks, Patrick Beverley averaged 13.9 points and earned SEC Newcomer of the Year, SEC Freshman of the Year, SEC All-Freshman Team, and second-team All-SEC honors.
In 2007, Patrick Beverley was featured in the documentary film Hoop Reality, considered an unofficial sequel to the 1994 film Hoop Dreams.
In 2007, during his sophomore year, Patrick Beverley led the Arkansas Razorbacks in rebounds, steals, and 3-point percentage, while being second in points and third in assists. He was also a candidate for the Wooden Award and Naismith Award.
In August 2008, Patrick Beverley was deemed ineligible to play in the 2008–09 season due to an academic integrity issue on a class paper and chose to play in Europe instead.
In October 2008, at the age of 20, Patrick Beverley signed with the Ukrainian team Dnipro for a year and participated in the Ukrainian Basketball League (UBL) All-Star Game and won the league's Slam Dunk Contest.
On June 26, 2009, Patrick Beverley was selected with the 42nd overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Miami Heat acquired his draft rights from the Lakers in exchange for a 2011 second-round draft pick and cash considerations. He was later cut from the Heat.
On August 26, 2009, Patrick Beverley signed with the Greek team Olympiacos Piraeus.
In 2010, Patrick Beverley helped Olympiacos win the Greek Cup title and reach the finals of both the EuroLeague and the Greek League.
On January 9, 2011, Patrick Beverley signed with Spartak St. Petersburg for the rest of the 2010–11 season.
On November 10, 2011, Patrick Beverley signed a contract extension with Spartak St. Petersburg through 2014.
On April 6, 2012, Patrick Beverley was selected as the EuroCup MVP for the 2011–12 season.
On July 19, 2012, Patrick Beverley announced that he would not be returning to Spartak for the 2012–13 season, but Spartak insisted that he honor his contract.
On January 7, 2013, Patrick Beverley signed a multi-year deal with the Houston Rockets and was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League.
On January 15, 2013, Patrick Beverley made his NBA debut for the Houston Rockets in a 117–109 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, recording three points, one assist, and one steal.
On February 23, 2013, Patrick Beverley made three 3-pointers and scored a career-high 15 points in a 105–103 loss to the Washington Wizards.
In 2013, Patrick Beverley had an injury-plagued season playing only 56 out of 82 games with the Rockets. He was later named in the NBA All-Defensive Second Team for the 2013–14 season.
On February 14, 2015, Patrick Beverley won the Skills Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend.
On July 9, 2015, Patrick Beverley re-signed with the Houston Rockets on a four-year, $23 million deal.
On March 18, 2016, Patrick Beverley recorded a season-high 18 points and a career-high 10 assists in a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
On October 22, 2016, Patrick Beverley was ruled out for three weeks after requiring arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
On November 17, 2016, Patrick Beverley made his season debut after missing the first 11 games, finishing with 11 points, three assists, and three blocks.
On December 7, 2016, Patrick Beverley nearly achieved his first career triple-double, finishing with 10 points, seven rebounds, and tying a career high with 12 assists.

On July 3, 2021, Patrick Beverley was suspended for one game for pushing Chris Paul during Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals of the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. The Clippers lost the game, ending their season.
On August 16, 2021, Patrick Beverley was traded, alongside Daniel Oturu and Rajon Rondo, to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Eric Bledsoe.
On January 3, 2022, Patrick Beverley recorded a career-high tying 12 assists, alongside 11 points, three rebounds and two steals, in a 122–104 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
On July 6, 2022, Patrick Beverley was traded to the Utah Jazz along with multiple players and draft picks in exchange for Rudy Gobert.
