Brent Urban is a Canadian professional football defensive end currently playing for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. Drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Urban played college football at the University of Virginia as a Virginia Cavalier. He continues his career in the NFL as a defensive end.
In 2006, at age 15, Brent Urban played on the AAA Mississauga Ice Dogs team that won the Ontario bantam championship and competed internationally in ice hockey.
In 2010, as a redshirt freshman, Brent Urban appeared in only three games for the University of Virginia after suffering a torn left ACL.
In 2011, as a sophomore, Brent Urban appeared in all 13 games as a backup defensive end and defensive tackle, registering 15 tackles. He underwent wrist surgery at the end of the season.
In 2012, as a junior, Brent Urban switched to defensive tackle, starting in all 12 games and totaling 20 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery for a touchdown. He returned a fumble 16 yards for a touchdown in the season finale against Virginia Tech.
In 2013, Brent Urban was selected by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL in the second round, 15th overall. The club would hold his rights if/when he decided to play in the CFL.
In 2013, as a senior, Brent Urban started at defensive tackle but suffered a high right ankle sprain in the sixth game, causing him to miss four contests. He recorded 40 tackles and led defensive linemen with nine passes broken up, despite missing part of the season. He also had 4 tackles for loss in the fourth game against the University of Pittsburgh. He underwent ankle surgery at the end of the season.

On November 25, 2015, Brent Urban was officially added to the active roster after returning to practice on November 9. In his first NFL game in Week 12 against the Cleveland Browns, Urban blocked a potential game-winning field goal as time expired, while teammate Will Hill recovered it and returned it for the game-winning touchdown.
In 2016, Brent Urban played in all 16 games as a backup defensive end, recording 10 tackles, 2 sacks, and two passes defended.
On September 27, 2017, Brent Urban was placed on injured reserve after suffering a Lisfranc foot injury in Week 3, which required surgery.
On March 6, 2018, Brent Urban signed a one-year contract extension with the Ravens for $2.35 million. He started all 16 games at right defensive end.
On April 26, 2019, Brent Urban signed with the Tennessee Titans, reuniting with defensive coordinator Dean Pees. He was a backup defensive end.
On October 19, 2019, Brent Urban was released by the Tennessee Titans after appearing in 4 games.
On October 21, 2019, Brent Urban signed with the Chicago Bears, two days after being released by the Titans, to replace injured defensive end Akiem Hicks.
On March 26, 2020, Brent Urban re-signed with the Bears. He appeared in 16 games.
On March 22, 2021, Brent Urban signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys to play defensive tackle.
